Beach, BBQ, Bourbon & Beer Weekend
Braise yourself ... It is all about beach, BBQ, bourbon and beer this June when The Gasparilla Inn & Club kicks off the ultimate summer culinary weekend. The National Historic Landmark's first annual B4 Weekend, led by Master Chef Peter Timmins, is set to be filled with cooking demonstrations, music and plenty of tasting and tippling. Experience Florida and barbecue the way it was meant to be, Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 23, 2013.
The Beach, BBQ, Bourbon & Beer weekend begins with a Friday evening island reception featuring barbeque specialties by expert guest chefs. Diners will have the opportunity to sip bourbons and Southern beers while learning about — and tasting the results of — barbecue techniques such as braising, smoking and roasting.
The sipping, tasting and grilling continues with Chef Timmins and other guest chefs throughout Saturday. Attendees are invited to discover lauded barbecue sauces, beer and bourbon via culinary demonstrations and tastings. Learn the history of bourbon and how it is made via a bourbon distillery demonstration and tasting. Then, head to The Inn's Beach Club to relax on the pristine, sparkling white sand beachfront and at the large family pool.
The weekend culminates with the final night's "Making Barbecue a Classy Affair" dine-around, presenting barbecue with a refined twist. Chef Peter Timmins, the guest chefs, as well as Inn Chefs Seth Shipley and Paul Ray will collaborate on the special menu for the evening. Beer and bourbon pairings and live music will complete the evening in style.
