Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum
The Port Boca Grande Lighthouse was built in 1890 to mark the southern tip of Gasparilla Island. A working U.S. Coast Guard Light, the lighthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places, and features a museum of local and island history. The lighthouse and museum are managed and operated by Barrier Island Parks Society (BIPS), which is a citizen support organization.
The lighthouse and museum is located at the southernmost tip of Gasparilla Island, and is the centerpiece of Gasparilla Island State Park. Open to the public, the museum and gift shop are open Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Closed major holidays and the month of August. There is no admission fee, but a $3 donation to the State Park is requested.
