Introducing Our Chef
Chef James Dyer is the Resort Executive Chef at The Gasparilla Inn & Club.
Having succeeded award winning Chef Alfons Wieschhorster, Dyer continues the tradition of fine food at The Gasparilla Inn and Club, combining New American Cuisine with contemporary technique and presentation.
Among awards Chef Dyer’s has earned are the DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America, the National Restaurant Association’s Award of Excellence for service, wine and food, the Wine Spectator Magazine Award of Excellence and the AAA Four Diamond Rating for exhibiting consistent standards of excellence.
A dean’s list graduate, fellow and recipient of the Frances L. Roth Outstanding Performance Award at the Culinary Institute of America (where he graduated at the top of his class), Chef Dyer also holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Prior to joining The Gasparilla Inn & Club, Chef Dyer was the Resort Executive Chef at the Mount Washington Hotel and Resort at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire and Special Events Chef at the Williamsburg Inn at Colonial Williamsburg.
